Seasoning always turns out patchy. What am I doing wrong? I use canola,  avocado oil, etc. for an hour or so at 400°-ish and each time it looks like  this. : r/castiron

Is this a normal thing with Cast Iron? I see others' pans and they look  shiny and sleek, mine looks matte and rough despite seasoning, and trying  to maintain. 😕 : r/castiron
